Summer Springboard and Cal Poly Extended, Professional and Continuing Education proudly offer 14 courses taught by active Cal Poly professors through the College of Liberal Arts (CLA) and the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES).
The College of Liberal Arts
The College of Liberal Arts comprises 15 highly selective departments offering programs in the arts, humanities, communications and social sciences. These diverse disciplines share a focus on human experience and expression. Providing nearly one-third of the university’s instruction, the CLA serves as an essential component of liberal education for all students at Cal Poly.
The College of Liberal Arts promotes excellence through teaching, scholarship and service; encouraging intellectual discovery and individual growth by promoting diversity, social responsibility and lifelong Learn by Doing in both the local and the global communities.
The College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES)
Summer Springboard @ Cal Poly is excited to welcome courses from the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences to our course offerings beginning in 2026.
Cal Poly’s College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences offers 22 broad majors and boasts one of the nation’s most prestigious undergraduate agriculture programs. Students have access to state-of-the-art laboratories across departments and majors.
The laboratories also include ranchland, orchards, vineyards and forest, which, in turn, provide the Learn by Doing opportunities that are the essence of the Cal Poly experience. These living laboratories, combined with the attention of faculty members dedicated to their students’ success, offer a powerful combination of rigorous academics with hands-on experiences that lead to fulfilling careers and distinctive professional accomplishment.
As a result of their ability to combine professional skills and technical competence with a big-picture vision and an innovative spirit, Cal Poly graduates are highly sought after by a broad cross-section of prestigious employers.
